Safety Statements
Safety Statements are required by law for all businesses and employers under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. Your Safety Statement is a written document outlining measures and procedures to protect: the health and safety of your employees while they work; the health and safety of other people who might be at the workplace, including guests, contractors, visitors and members of the public.
Your company-specific Safety Statement shall represent a commitment to your organisation’s health and safety.
The Food Safety Company provides a personal service to help you develop and create your Safety Statement:
- A visit to your premises by one of our experienced consultants to review operations and procedures.
- Identification of all the potential hazards and risks that your employees may be exposed to during the course of their duties and that all appropriate risk assessments are developed.
- Our consultant will then prepare a site specific, fully compliant, comprehensive Safety Statement to meet your requirements.
Health and Safety Risk Assessments
Whether you are a small or large business – Section 19 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 requires all employers to identify the hazards in their workplace, assess the potential risks of these hazards to health and safety and implement the necessary controls for these hazards.
Risk Assessments involves assessing risks in the workplace that could potentially cause harm to your employees, contractors, visitors, and members of the public. A Risk Assessment gives you the opportunity to estimate the degree of risk and decide whether the risk is acceptable or whether more preventative measures are needed to prevent harm. Employers must implement any preventative measures considered necessary by the risk assessment to help prevent accidents or ill-health from occurring.
A conducted Risk Assessment by a competent individual will help minimise the possibility of your business harming those who visit your premises or employees onsite.
Our experienced Health and Safety Consultants will conduct a full Risk Assessment of your premises. Hazards at the workplace will be identified and all risks evaluated. Upon completion of the Risk Assessment it is vital to maintain routine checks to ensure your business maintains compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
Safety Audits and Inspections
One of our experienced Health and Safety consultants will perform a one-off workplace inspection at your premises, or if preferred quarterly documented workplace inspections. Our detailed reports include corrective actions that can be used to form the foundations of management objectives to accomplish best practices in the workplace in relation to Health and Safety management.
